Moving into a Trailer

WE ARE MOVING INTO A TRAILER

So this year we firmly decided to take our life on the road. Our goal is to have bought the trailer by the end of this year and to have it renovated for early next year.

I AM SO EXCITED. I honestly cant contain it!
I spend most of my spare time looking up trailers and researching renovations people have done.

Its going to be an amazing feeling, a freeing feeling and I am super excited to have that feeling again! That travel bug...that itch...that adventurous spirit! I have missed it.

Do you have or live in a trailer? If you have any tips or tricks we would LOVE to hear from you!

Make sure to check back for updates!

Summer fun

We have gone on two trips so far this summer, one was very last minute and one was very special, So both were not documented very well. But I will say this, be prepared because starting this weekend we are going to be weekend warriors because our travels are SOOOOOOOOOO easy with our Honda Ridgeline.

We will be doing a full review of our truck and why we love it for traveling, especially with our pooch Jersey. Let you know all the cool features and see if maybe it might fit your camping lifestyle to!

Talk to ya soon!

Our New Whip- 2013 Honda Ridge-line

Today marks the beginning of our adventures this year. We got a new car. Well not just a car we got a TRUCK. We had an old, unreliable car before, so our trips were limited to places that we could easily be saved from. Now we can go where ever we want. Today we picked up our Honda Ridge-line and we were both nothing but smiles. We drove the whole way home talking about all the places we can go this year and all the fun blogs/vlogs we can make for you guys. Is there anywhere in particular you want us to visit? Leave it in the comments bellow and we will be sure to try and get to as many of them as we can!

So far our list includes:

Kincardine On.
Alliston On.
Webster falls On.
Huntsville On.
Arrowhead Park (Ont)
Niagara On.
Ottawa On.
Algonquin Provincial park (Ont)
Killarny Provincial Park (Ont)

We are planning to explore a lot of our home province in the next few months but we may also take a few dips to visit south of the border.

I am having a blast today planning out our summer. I have never been more excited about a vehicle.

So here's to summer and all the outdoor fun!

What are your plans for the next few months? Tell us in the comments!

Ch Ch Ch Ch Changes

So much changes in life and I have learned in the last few months to just go with the changes and make the best possible out of them.

Right after I wrote my last post I got hired on as a manager at a upscale food store down town Toronto. Hence why I haven't posted much since then. My commute is an hour each way so I have been spending lots of time on Subways and Trains (great reading time). Also our computer decided to crap out on us so writing has been extra impossible to accomplish.

We had many plans for the summer of 2018, but as life throws you changes sometimes plans have to change. Jessie got a new job and we are right now in the process of looking to buy a new car. If you know anything about cars and you drive a stick shift you will know that when, 3rd and 4th gear wont stay engaged, the car is 14 years old and has almost 300,000 KM on it is probably time to go car shopping.

Camping with our little pup (she is not so little anymore) is something we will never not do and we have a few weekend trips that we will for sure be going on this summer. We also have made a nice long list of day trips that we really want to do this year. Exploring Ontario is HIGH on our list. We are also going to Start a YouTube channel to document our adventures so when that is up and ready I will leave a link.

Nothing drastic has changed in the past few months, just normal life curve balls that you have to sort out. SO CHEERS TO LIFE AND ALL THAT COMES WITH IT! Also cheers to making the best of what you have been given.

Let me know in the comments what curve balls have been thrown your way? How did you stay positive and overcome them? What adventures do you have planned this summer?

Its been a while....

Hello everyone!!!! It has been quite a while since I last posted.... a year and 7 months to be exact! WOW! I cant believe it has been that long. It goes to show me that I am making the right life decision.

A year and 7 months ago I took a position at a catering company that has consumed my life and now there is physical proof that my decision to leave the toxic environment at that workplace was the best decision I have ever made! Blogging is something I absolutely love and I haven't done it since I started there.

So lets catch up.

Since January 5th 2016 (my last post) a lot has happened. Jessie and I got a pooch. Her name is Jersey and she is a boarder collie mixed with pit bull. She is super sweet and has the cutest spotted sock paws on earth :)

We also moved house in January of 2017. We are super happy living in a historic home and getting our life set up to hopefully be buying our own home in the next few years. We live in a pretty central location in our city so for me since I STILL don't have my licence it works out well because I can walk or bus pretty much anywhere when Jessie isn't home to be my driving service lol.

We have a beautiful park beside us that is called Gage Park. A wonderful Farmers Market on Saturdays and AN AMAZING AUTHENTIC Spanish food store. There are also really beautiful old buildings and houses that makes walks with Jersey so wonderful and beautiful!

Travel wise we haven't done too much this summer as we have been so focused on getting our finances in order so we can buy the land that we want. BUT we have been doing day trips to some national and provincial parks as well as a few camping trips here and there. This summer we have been to Earl Rowe, Inverhuron and Valens parks as well as a wonderfully surprising road trip to Kincardin Ontario that made us both rethink where we want to live....it is honestly the most beautiful place in Ontario I have ever seen!

I am going to try Daily posts from now until the end of September and see where is goes from there.
You can expect blogs about, the places we have visited this summer, books I have read, recipes, doggie related posts, health  and much much more so make sure you sign up for email notifications so you don't miss a single post!

Cheap Travel Tips - Part 2

A few months ago I posted part one of a cheap travel tips series and it was very well recieved. So I decided to keep it going. Here is part two of some of the things I do while traveling and before traveling to save some money :)

26. Eat the street food, its much cheaper and often much better

27. Pre drink......but I am sure most of you do this at home to!

28. When you go out partying, take out an allowance and don't spend more!

29. Don't be afraid do bargain. It is expected in some places!

30. Getting some pre-paid money cards can reduce the withdraw charges from  your bank.

31. Free calling apps are a god sent, my favorite is Viber. Free text/call with wifi.

32. Make sure your hostel has free wifi. This is key!

33. Google free things to do in your destination, you would be surprised how any free activities there are.

34. Have a budget book and write down every cent you spend!

35. Before you leave go through all of your belongings and sell all of the unwanted items you can!

36. Pack travel pillow, earphones and an eye mask. Trust me!

37. Always have snacks on you. Just like at home buying from a grocery store is much cheaper then a convenience store or a vending machine.

38. Pay your check in fees online not at the airport, sometimes when you arrive for your flight the check in fees get bumped up in price.

39. Go to the tourist info center. You will get a free map and alot of the time learn about some really cool stuff to do!

40. Make your own travel size toiletries. Buying things small is expensive.

41. Try not to plan toooooo much, the more you go with the flow the better the trip will be.

42. If your hostel has free breakfast try and make yourself some lunch/snacks to take with you....hey every little bit helps!

43. Make larger withdraws to avoid multiple fees.

44. Send post cards not souviners.

45. Try and keep the "drinking nights" to a minnimum. you will save money and never be hung over :) Unless the drinks are free....then drink away :)

46. Always have water, avoid buying at train stations and other expensive spots.

47. Carry one book at a time.

48. Trade your book at hostels.

49. Avoid tourist traps they can be so expensive and not always worth it.

50. Try not to go back and fourth in your travels. Travel slow and dont miss a thing :)
